Senior Systems Engineer-SCCM


The Senior Systems Engineer is a key role in the RoundTower Managed Services team. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and experience to work with a variety of technologies in diverse environments.  This position will be focused on managing enterprise-scale Microsoft server environments and domains. The Senior Systems engineer will use his technical expertise to drive efficacies and innovation, delivering value to our customers.


  • Participate in daily operation of customer Microsoft Server and Active Directory environments
  • Deploy configure and manage SCCM and SCOM
  • Participating in server maintenance, leveraging tools such as SCCM, LANDesk, GFI LanGuard and WSUS
  • Configure and tune monitoring tools to allow RoundTower to proactively manage customer environment
  • Assist customers with Domain Administration including access and Group Policy management
  • Assist customers with planning, testing and execution of Disaster Recovery activities
  • Engage effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
  • Train and mentor other team members to strengthen skills across the team
  • Obtain and/or maintain technical skills required to meet the obligations of our customers
  • Document operational processes and procedures to optimize support and management of deployed systems
  • Be proactive in identifying and fixing potential problems
  • Provide emergency after-hours support as part of a scheduled on-call rotation
  • Provide periodic after-hours support for scheduled maintenance activities
  • M-F 8:30AM to 5:30PM ET
  • Periodic after-hours scheduled maintenance activities
  • Rotating 24x7 Weekly On-Call Schedule
  • Remote
  • Occasional travel to work sites or business events may be required

Required Skills/Expertise

  • BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years administrating Windows Server in an enterprise environment with 24x7x365 uptime requirements
  • Experience Implementing and Administering ADFS
  • Experience Implementing and Administering SCCM and SCOM
  • Experience with Microsoft Clustering services
  • Ability to automate tasks using PowerShell
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring and event management technologies
  • Excellent organization and follow-up skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have experience working in an ASP, ISP or other managed service provider environments

Desired Skills/Expertise

  • Experience working with cloud environments, including Azure and AWS
  • Experience with LogicMonitor or Nagios
  • Experience working with ServiceNow
  • Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), VMware, and enterprise storage platforms
  • Working knowledge of databases including MS SQL and Oracle
  • Industry technical certifications such as MCSE, ITIL or CCNA Data Center
